On June 1, 2020, NEDA (National Economic and Development Authority) published an article on their website, pertaining to the increase of online transactions during GCQ.
“Online shopping and marketing platforms will play bigger role in the new normal as businesses and consumers increase the use of electronic transactions, including cashless payment system and other financial technology platforms,” said NEDA Acting Secretary Karl Kendrick T. Chua.
As many businesses and MSMEs of different industries slowly open, NEDA hopes that local business owners push towards the use of online transactions in order to make products/services more accessible to consumers.
“Businesses need to innovate and make full use of technology to resume operations and cater to consumer needs and preferences while still managing risks of Covid-19 infection,” Chua said.
